Baked Apples

Definitely my new favorite way to eat apples!! I love eating them soft and warm waaay more than hard and cold. 

I couldn’t decide how to categorize this recipe because, I don’t know about y’all but, I would 100% eat one of these for breakfast, snack, or dessert. But, since most people enjoy Baked Apples as a dessert (usually with ice cream), I went with dessert. 

The thing I love most about these apples is how easy it is to create different fillings but also, how delicious they are plain. I give a few ideas that I enjoy but you can honestly fill these apples with pretty much any combo or add no filling at all and it’ll be delicious!

All you have to do to make these Baked Apples is wash and peel the apples (if desired, I liked them better with the skin on), remove the cores, fill and coat them, add water to a pan, and stick them in the oven for about 1 hour. It’s so simple to make and easy to personalize.

Baked Apples

Ingredients:

  • 1 large apple

  • 1 tsp liquid coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup water

  • pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or other Fall seasoning

Filling #1

  • 1 Tbsp oats

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

  • 1 tsp coconut sugar

 

Filling #2

  • 1 Tbsp oats

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

 

Filling #3

  • peanut butter

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  • Wash apple (peel if desired) and remove the core

  • Brush the outside of the apple with liquid coconut oil

  • Sprinkle Fall seasoning over apple and place in oven safe pan (with sides)

  • Keep plain or mix filling of choice and place in center of apple

  • Add water to the bottom of the pan and bake in oven for 45 min-1 hour or until fork can easily push through the apple
