My Favorites This Month
It’s finally summer!!!!
These are some products I’ve been loving this month! (links included)
Pure Peppermint Herbal Tea Bags
Twinnings of London
One thing to know about me is that I don’t really like any drinks except water and chocolate milk…. and I especially can’t stand coffee & tea. BUT with that being said, I have finally found a tea that I can stand. I won’t go as far as saying I love it..yet..but we’re honestly getting close to that. Peppermint has been such a blessing in the past because I’ve had many stomach issues in my life and peppermint works so great in easing pain and discomfort (I use peppermint essential oil directly on my stomach and then drink this tea usually after dinner, sometimes after other meals as well).
P.S. If you’re interested in purchasing any essential oils, I know a gal ;) contact me and I can hook you up
Craft Beer Salsa
Interesting find with this one! My mom and sister bought this salsa at the store to try out and I loved it! It’s definitely a unique flavor but I liked the change. I really enjoy salsa with my meals (eggs, rice bowls, etc.) because it adds great flavor and works great as a dipping “sauce.”
Sprouted Honey Oat Bread
Simple Truth Organic
OUR NEW FAVORITE BREAD. This stuff is the absolute bomb. It’s spouted, it has a slightly sweet flavor, it’s full of great ingredients, and the texture is amazing! Not much more to say about this one except that if you love toast, try this bread out!!!
Fruit Infusion Flavor Pitcher
This pitcher was such a great purchase!! I love that you can easily fill the filter with all different fruits and let it fully infuse in the fridge. Our favorite combo so far has been strawberry/lemon/lime…so refreshing!!
Char-Boil 3 piece Grilling Topper Set
you can buy HERE
My family just purchased a grill for summer (woo!) so we went ahead and bought a few accessories as well. These baskets are definitely the coolest accessory because you can fill them with vegetables, potatoes, onion and garlic, etc. I would really recommend these if you have a grill!
Electric Tea Kettle
Hamilton Beach (cordless, auto-shutoff, boil-dry protection)
As we’ve already spoken about, I now drink tea now and then so this electric tea kettle has been quite helpful!
No-Bite Nail Polish
Okay, let’s briefly talk about one of my biggest insecurities and worst habits…nail biting. It’s pretty bad and I’ve tried practically everything to try and stop but nothing seems to work long-term. So, I decided to purchase a bad-tasting nail polish to discourage me from biting them. Now, I’d like to mention that based on the absolute WRETCHED, horrible, disgusting, taste of this stuff, it’s probably filed with ingredients/chemicals that I don’t even want to know about. But BOY does it work, I mean it makes you never want to go near your finger again!! I’m still working on ditching this habit because honestly if I forget to reapply, I will go ahead and chomp away but we’re headed in the right direction. I will get there.
Goat Milk Facial Cleanser
I’ve mentioned this in a few YouTube videos but I wanted to include it here too in case you missed it! This is my new favorite face wash to use. It does well to clean my skin, it’s creamy, and it leaves my skin feeling soft. Definitely try it out if you’re looking for something new!
Facial Cleansing Brush
This is the electric brush I use to apply my face wash and it’s honestly been a game changer. I didn’t realize how much I miss by just washing with my hands. To test this out, I first washed my face with my hands and then washed a second time right after with the brush and so much makeup and dirt came off that I had missed the first time. An added bonus to this product is that it come with 5 different attachments. They all have different functions and I think it definitely makes it worth the purchase.
MAKEUP & HAIR
Tinted Face Mineral Lotion Sunscreen
I’ve really enjoyed using this face sunscreen lately! Now that it’s summer and sunny almost every day (#thankful), it’s really important to wear sunscreen when going outside. I have a separate sunscreen for my face because when I use body or regular sunscreen (at least the kind I use) it turns my face pure white…and it refuses to fully absorb so because of it’s stubbornness, I’ve opted for this face-specific sunscreen and I’m really glad I did. I also really love the tint because it’s not tinted like foundation where you can visibly see a big difference. It’s just slightly colored so that it matches my skin. I usually put it on in the morning if I know I’ll be going outside that day. I mentioned what sunscreen I use for the rest of my body (natural, clean ingredients) in my March 2020 Favorites blog. Check it out >> HERE
Boar Bristle Hair Brush
Y’all. I mentioned this brush in my marathon video (watch it HERE) and it’s my absolute favorite thing!!! I’m usually the kind of gal that uses cheap, plastic brushes from Walgreens and then replaces them every now and then when they break or when I lose them BUT you will not catch me breaking or losing this gem. This one is long-term…durable!!! It’s made with two different types of bristles, it has a wooden frame, and it feels amazing. This type of brush is also said to stimulate hair growth because it massages and brings blood flow to the scalp so added bonus if that works out. When you by this specific brush on Amazon, it comes with a bag to keep it in (very nice and surprisingly helpful) and a cleaning tool to get the hair out (also very nice and surprisingly helpful).
Soft Matte Lip Cream
Pretty simple product but I really like this stuff. I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, if any. I’ll usually just put on concealer, blush, mascara, and a little color on the edges of my lips. This lip cream is what I’ll use for just a bit of color and pop! I really love that you can fancy it up (wear it on entire lips and add a gloss on top) or make it casual (just lightly line lips with maybe some lip balm).
Single, Dating, Engaged, Married
I gotta say it. Reading is the best! I know so many people who would strongly disagree with me and while I still love them, I don’t understand. It’s so informative, so calming, so useful….how could you not love it?? Anyways, if you’re a book lover like me, this is a really great read! The greatest thing about it is that it’s for everyone, no matter what stage of life you’re in. Whether you’ve been single for your entire life or married 20 years, I truly think there’s valuable information in this book. It clearly explains, from a biblical, Christian standpoint, how we should approach singleness, dating or courtship, engagement, and marriage. Highly recommend.
Okay, if we’re talking about good books, let’s just get down to it…buy this book. Yes, its nitty gritty. Yes, it’s hard to process and accept at times. Yes, it will call you out. Yes, you’re going to question and rethink a lot after reading it..or at least you should. But, how can we ever live a life more like Christ if we don’t experience these things. I encourage you to buy this and go into it with an open mind and an open heart. It’s now one of my favorite books.
I hope you enjoyed this blog of my favorite May products! If you try any of these out or if you have favorites of your own from May that you think others should try out too, make sure to leave it in the comments below!
I hope you’re doing well and I hope you have a wonderful month in June.
