Hi friends,

I decided that today’s post would be a simple one. I’ve honestly been wanting to do this for a while now but haven’t set aside the time to actually do it.

In this blog, I’m going to briefly explain the timeline of my schooling and future career to give an idea of how the next few years are (hopefully) going to be for me.

It’s sort of a get-to-know-me type blog and I hope you find it interesting :)

Background

To give a little background information, I think I should start with the first college I attended, Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan, New York. I went there fresh out of high school at the age of 17 (almost 18) from my hometown Memphis, Tennessee. I spent 1 1/2 years there majoring in dance with the intention of becoming a professional.

Bye Bye Manhattan

After that year and half was up, I decided I didn’t want to attend school in New York anymore and later decided I didn’t want to dance at all (for reasons I can explain at a later time). Since I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do next, I chose to save some money (and possible heart-ache) by taking a semester off of school and moving in with my sister and her family.

New School

This semester off of school was just what I needed and living with some of my family made me incredibly happy. I changed my major to Kinesiology (Pre Physical Therapy) and transferred to my current university in Texas that Fall (2019). I’m still attending this school and I absolutely love my new major!!

Future plans

As I’m writing this, I’m in the summer (2020) before my last year of academic courses. I’m currently enrolled in summer classes, I’ll be taking max credits in the Fall and Spring semesters, and I’ll be finishing up the remainder of my classes next summer. (The large workload is due to transferring schools and starting my new major behind schedule.) Once I’ve finished academics next summer, I’ll start my internships that Fall (2021). We’re required to complete two internships to graduate, which can both be done in 1 semester. I’ll then be able to graduate at the end of the Fall semester (2021)!!! Following my graduation, I plan to work from the beginning of 2022 until the end of the summer. Hopefully by this point, I will have been accepted into grad school for my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and I will begin my 3 years in the Fall of 2022.

Once I’ve graduated PT school, I’ll be able to work in the field as a licensed Physical Therapist!

Now of course plans change all the time and a number of the statements I’ve made above could be altered in one way or another, but I thought it would be helpful and interesting to share with you guys what direction I’m headed and what I hope to do in the near future.

Based on what I’ve discussed with my school advisor, my plans should work out so I definitely have a plate-full with school the next few years but I’m so eager to keep working and eventually end with a career I love.

I’ve really been focusing lately on enjoying and rejoicing in the present moment instead of living so much in the future (which is easy to do especially at my current stage of life). Ben reminded me the other day that it’s most important to glorify God in all that I do. So pray pray pray and work for that each and every day. It's God's plans that will prevail.

I wanted to leave y’all with that beautiful reminder <3

In Christ Alone my hope is found
