5-Minute Pumpkin Pasta Sauce

simple & slightly sweet

Growing up, my family ate a lot of pasta! We probably had it for dinner 3-5 times a week...I mean you would think we're Italian but no, we are not. Don't get me wrong, I was thriving. My mom is a wonderful cook and she provided a variety of different pasta dishes that were absolutely delicious. (P.S. thank you, Mom, for providing us with nice home-cooked meals:)) Needless to say, I really love it so I had to create my own little spin on classic pasta sauce. 


While traditional red sauce will always hold my heart, I like to mix it up once in a while. I'm definitely not the type of person that is picky about sticking to seasonal dishes. I love eating pumpkin year-round so if you're like me, this recipe will work any day of the year. This recipe is perfect to prep for the week or make on the spot. It only takes 5 minutes!!!! Plus, it adds a nice change to the traditional pasta sauce

5 min Pumpkin Pasta Sauce

yields approx 20-24 oz



  • 1 can pumpkin puree

  • 1 cup plain non dairy milk

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 Tbsp parmesan

  • 1 tsp basil

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  • 1/2 tsp parsley

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • heaping 1/4 tsp salt

  • Combine ingredients in small sauce pan on medium until heated through
